My friend ad I have talked about a subject like this, the actual nature of the soul. We agreed that it was more of a body of energy, possibly controlled by the brain, that stored spiritual energy or chi. This, we found, explain the Wiccan tradition, as well as others that focus on energy manipulation.

This energy would not be destroyed or disappear after death, but be recycled, as you said, within the universe.

In a way, the soul is immortal, and specific parts of the individual could imprint on the energy, but it is the energy that is immortal, and not so much the individual.

Actually memory isn't spatio-temporal in the brain, i.e. there's no specific point in which memory is stored. The brain operates holographically, meaning every bit contains the whole (Karl Pribram). A noted quantum physicist David Bohm independently came to the conclusion that the universe is holographic.

If questions concerning the nature of reality and human consciousness seek answers, I found many in a fascinating book called The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot.

Also, here's David Icke talking about the nature of life: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=733382654820436671&q=secrets+matrix+icke

Interesting point of view...
I was thinking about the dead and the possibilities after it. One of the possibilities it's the fact that the people never die to themselves. People always die to other people, and, when it's happening, people made a travel between dimensions. So, the 'dead' it's a way to explain the complex idea of 'infinity', giving an end that isn't there.

John i know that your mind is running the show in your head all the time, apparently even when you sleep. I dig your questioning; tho...,,, how does it follow logically that if you have no soul therefore you are immortal?

Thinking is what your brain does. But there is more to life than thinking. There are many ways for humans to process information other than that constant brain yaking yaking forever never sleeping. If you could make a CD or DVD of your brain and play it back you might discover that there is so much data imput on it that you have to turn it off. Cuz dear brother the universe is vast and the infinite layers of reality that you have trained yourself to filter out all these years is there all the time while your thoughts distract you from what is really true. Regular meditation will allow the mind to stop for a while, then other observations will draw you into possibilities that might shock you but they might also be strangely familiar somehow. This awake place is the dream. Dreaming is more than real. Everything we think is bullshit. Its data. Thinking is good for problem solving others needs. Thats all it is good for. Its a computer. The soul does not think. It is. Its about beingness. If you can just be ~ without thinking ~ let me know how that is.

Is God immortal? And who is your creator? God? Would a loving, immortal being capable of birthing your spirit/soul create something that dies? Does any loving father or mother kill their young?
Our energy and spirit are more vast than we can even dream.

i believe that you are very much correct. In the end time will appear very different to us than it does now. Consider a limestone outcropping as opposed to a stopwatch. It occurs to me occasionally that there is only one life that has to take turns being all of us...from GWBush to the mighty liverwort... in which case i find myself in the odd position of emailing myself again... drat!

I don't think we can explain death or life. It's very dangerous for people to suppose they have the answers - it's then when the questions will change.

You live now in the present moment where love exists - that's enough. People wonder where God is, how God came into being, is there a God, etc. but these queries miss the point and form in a narrow set of impulses.
